wonkystuff #18: Dare we speak on the laws of chance?

(for the benefit of regulars, this one has switched to a Monday)

Stellar line-up this time with contributions from the North-East and the North West… highly regarded the lot of ’em!

  • Zimzum: Amy Horgan is revisiting York from Manchester with sounds “Distantly resembling techno, but committed to its grinding, fuggy atmosphere more than providing beat-based succour” (The Quietus)
  • 1727: 1727 is the solo project of Esmé Louise Newman (half of ‘Penance Stare’), channelling dark ambiences and menacing tones…
  • Falco Subbuteo: Gwilly Edmondez and Val Persona bring their (Eurasian) Hobby out of retirement for a special appearance just for us.
  • Territorial Gobbing: Theo brings the noise from Leeds as a replacement for Yol & Mariam: tapes, contact mics and clutter meld into a delicate and transient explosive hyper dynamic noise musique]

Requested admission is £5, but no-one will be turned away due to lack of funds (Come See! Come Hear!).

Wonkystuff events are characterised by the minimal (DiY) presentation, and no canned music between performances (we value the time to talk to audience members, without the distraction of background music – we feel that the focus should be on the performed music)
